The 3D Internet Will Change How We Live

By far this article is more then an opinion.  It is a sure fact of how much SecondLife, a 3-D Virtual Reality has made an impact of how we do things online.  One can think of SecondLife as the ultimate source of socialization.  I can tell you for a fact that it is a lot more.

I am constantly learning new thing about SecondLife.  Mainly do to the fact that things are constantly being added and changed throughout SL.  Thing in SL are so real and interactive that SL has a reality all its own.  In the beginning, one would say Real Life or RL for the life outside this virtual world.  I can say for a bona fide fact that it is hard to tell what is more real.  I have always thought that we should say First Life or FL instead.  How things are improving nearly every day in SL, I am sure that FL might start to be the trend.

To have "The Wall Street Journal" to write an article about SecondLife is a giant statement in itself.  True it is in the opinion section, but WOW!!  SecondLife has been online for five years now.  For so many businesses and individuals alike to come on board so much and grow at an alarming rate is another big statement.  Businesses like IBM, Cisco Systems, and many, many others, would not be a part of something if they were losing money from it.  SecondLife is far more then a game.  It is a true and solid virtual reality system.  One can do things on it far better if impossible in the conventional world or FL we live in today.

DUH!!  This does not mean that SecondLife is a replacement of FL, but it is starting to be an important addition to it in just about all aspects of our lives.  Technology is vastly growing beyond all expectations.  When we can use three dimensional virtual realities to focus our Internet experience, we can be able to do a lot more then the way we have all be using the Internet.  Let's face it, there is so much we can do on a flat surface.  The first website was only text information. Now we have flash animation, music, videos, and all the rest.

Now think of how you do thing in your own life outside the Internet.  When you have all that in your mind, see all that being done online.  With SecondLife, you can move like you can in FL. You can gram things, move things, and interact with others in real life three dimensional manner.  Talking about moving items, you can move furniture a lot easier then you can in RL.  You can fly in SecondLife.  Fall off high buildings without getting a scratch.  One can also change their appearance with different avatars in a few seconds.  The only limit to using Second Life is the permissions you will have in whatever simulation you are in, and your own imagination.

When one first experiences SecondLife, they will start to play around within it.  How better way to learn about this virtual reality system.  After the play time is done, use that experience to achieve in life, like create a business, rent a home, sell items, work inworld for SecondLife money, Lindens L$.  There a limitless things you can do within SecondLife.  Bit of a warning though....if you fill out surveys to get free L$, then expect to have junk mail and telemarketers to call you.  As in FL, there is nothing free if it is worth having.  You can get free items with out any fuss, but as you will see there is a difference in how clothes look.  If you want to wear the better looking clothes, then you will have to pay the money for them.

So why have a three dimensional virtual reality.  The same question can be asked, why have socialization online?  For that matter, why have the Internet at all?  There is only one word that can answer these questions, "Communication."  From all that  have read about the Internet, the purpose of the Internet was not to keep us from traveling as we have.  The Internet was designed to help us communicate throughout the world right on our computer without having to physically move to that location to share information.

For several years now, we have shared things online in a two dimensional format.  With SecondLife, we can do so in a three dimenstional format.  Which one would you rather do:  Share things in a 2-D or 3-D.  Today in the 21st Century, we can do either one.  In SecondLife, we can also share text message and many other things if permissions allow.

In our convensional world, we can have others take things from us.  In SL only you can take your own items unless you give a person that permission to do so.  The power of SecondLife is very much outstanding.  I cannot state this enough, "There is no limit to what you can do with the power of what SecondLife can allow you to do.  That is why SL has been so popular these five yers.  It is why it will stand throughout time.

These videos are just a very tiny concept of what SecondLife is all about.  How SL peforms from this point forward is up to all of us to achieve.  As with FL, it is up to all of us to make a difference.  That is how powerful SecondLife is online.  If it took five years to make what SL is today, then it can become more powerful as time moves forward.  Get inworld of SecondLife and make a difference for yourself and others.

Are you ready for avatar rights?

Interesting to me that the writer of this article has this title, but does not fully realize how real SecondLife is today.  Jeff Roberts keeps on saying SL is a game.  If people are making real life money in SecondLife, then it is more then a game.

True, there many types of role playing games (RPG) in SecondLife, but there is a lot more to SL then gaming.  Just about anything you can thinking that one can make money in real life or first life, one can do it in SecondLife.  There is really no limit to what one can do in SecondLife other then the imagination of the user behind the avatar.

In SecondLife is does not matter if one is a female, male, animal, robot, or whatever.  To be in SL it takes the right type of attitude.  If only that was true in real life.  I believe avatars have rights, because yo have more freedom to do things.  You can do things that you might not be able to do in  real life.  One might be getting a job or even a career job.

Even if the economy was not as bad as it is today, I strongly believe that it would be just as hard to get one.  conventional jobs are simply being fill up.  There are not as many vacancies as there use to be.  Online jobs are starting to climb.  With the high gas prices that is all over, more will be using the Internet to clock in for work.

A lot of government jobs are like that now.  These organizations do not a real office to go to.  It is cheaper to not pay the rent on a building verses having their employees stay at home and use their own computer, which would be about the same thing they will be doing if they were at an office.

Many corporations are using SecondLife for business meetings and all sorts of group communications.  Cisco Systems has a number of public meetings each month.  Schools are starting to use SecondLife.  With more and mroe students coming into a public building, the colleges and other secondary school systems can save a lot of money on having to create a new building or even add to the one that have already.

There are countless reasons to use a 3-D virtual reality online system like SecondLife.  There are still others virtual reality systems out there, but SecondLife has them all beat by every means one can think of.  Even with the pain in the neck bugs that are constantly haunting SL, this virtual reality still pushes forwards with great hope and promise.

The only thing more that I can say on this article is to go on SecondLife and experience the wonders yourself.  You will see how much freedom and rights you have in SecondLife, and how much you can do inworld.  As with life itself, no one can learn all in a day or two.  To catch me inword, find FraterPhoenix Finesmith.

Second Life and the coming of the digital man

I have to admit spite all the bugs that SecondLife has people still are using it as part of their own real life.  For me at least, SecondLife is just as important as my life in the real world.  In fact, SecondLife is just as real.  I believe that the term RL- Real Life will be replace as FL- First Life while communicating in SL- SecondLIfe.

For me, SecondLife is an extension of who I am.  It is not the means of what gender I use in SecondLife, but how I present myself towards others.  It is like being a nudist.  You end up having nothing to hide of yourself.  How my avatar looks is not the issue or the important thing.  I can change my appearance with great easy by changing my avatar.  I can be Darth Vader one moment and Kool-Aid man the next.

If only people in the real world could look at others in the same manner.  Gender is never an issue.  It is how one does his/her job that makes him a good employee or whatever in life.  Life should be lived my attitude of the mind.  We all have physical limitations.  SecondLife is no different.  The most important limitation one can have in both worlds is what we put on ourselves.  True, one cannot do everything, but to say I cannot without using all your options is surely a loser.

The wonder of SL is that you can do a lot more then in RL.  One can add, move and edit the appearance of your own home then one could in RL.  The only limit one has in SL is the mind of the user behind the avatar.  As in RL, one needs money to pay the rent, buy objects, like clothes furniture, etc.

There are a lot of free things in SL, but as you may have guess the items you buy are a lot better quality.  Nothing is perfect in life, that includes SL.  Even with the bugs and other frustrations that SL may have, it can be a wonderful experience.  As we do more and more online due to the high gas prices, I would not doubt one day that we all will be doing some job or services that will get us money in RL.  As the economy in RL is hurting us all, SL has it is financial issues. but I strongly believe that in the near future SecondLife will be a source of RL income for many.

Right now the big money is in real estate.  SecondLife has been online for a few years now, but it has grown a great deal in the past couple of years.  I also believe that SL is growing as fast as the Internet itself.  I do not really know the future of SecondLife or even life itself, but if we still have users on SL that are willing to advance their business or whatever, then there is no telling the wonders that awaits.

Blessed Be,
Brandon

Call for web to stay open for all

It really amazes me how some people can be so stupid. A few people have stated that the Internet will be either shut down or be caused to be shut down.  That is absolutely and completely NOT TRUE!!  There are so many people using the Internet: business, government, and individuals alike.

Before I can even complete this sentence, there are numerous of new things happening online.  Business or anyone else for that matter will not put their time and money into something and have it shut down tomorrow.  Socialization is growing so fast that I cannot type a word quick enough.

Politicians are already using the Internet.  Each candidate is already have a website, blogs, MySpace account, twitter account, and just about anything they can do to get voters to vote for them.  Businesses are using twitter like crazy to communicate in real time with their customers.  Individuals are using all sorts of socialization methods online.  The Internet is not going away folks.  It is here it stay and grow at alarming rates.

This article and others like it do not tell you how the Internet is going down in how many years they predict.  To tell you the truth, I am not sure what the article is really saying.  This one man is getting his government to keep the Internet going.

The thing is ladies and gentlemen, no one controls the Internet.  What is the Internet then?  Basically it millions upon millions upon millions of computers connected to each other, like a web.  One can get information anywhere on Earth as one were at that computer itself at a very fast speed.  With today's technology, one can watch a video, listen to music, and read text on just about any subject known to mankind.

If I am right, the Internet has been around since December 1966.  The mass public did not get on board till the early 1990s.  Now we can do things that no one has ever thought possible since the Internet began.  Again, new things are popping up all the time.  These new things do cost money even though the services might be free for us all.

The purpose of any business is to make money.  These businesses that are all over the Internet will not be on it if it did give them a lot more money the it cost to run their Internet services.  We all might continue to read this tripe about the Internet going away.  Just remember, it is not true.  Also look at the evidence if any they show.  If the facts that I have shared here does not match to what they are saying, then they are simply trying to stir up a lot of stupid.  Remember misery loves company.  Please do not fall into there arrogance and stupidity.  Thank you for your time.

Blessed Be,
Brandon
