Internet marketing
The Internet in the 21st Century and Beyond.
I have recently been to a job fair in SecondLife. It was sponsored by Cisco Systems on their island in SecondLife. I was looking for a job in web design. After going to every booth, I did not find any one looking for a web page designer. I did talk with one of the Cisco people and she told me that there are two things that are very popular in the Internet field, Web Marketing and Search Engine Optimization.
In reading this article by Wikipedia, I have found something very interesting "Viral marketing." In a small way, that is what SecondLife is all about as far as corporations are concern. Within SecondLife there is a very unique and special relationship that marketers and consumers can communicate even if the consumer does not realize it. By marketing seeing a consumer change things within the product they buy, marketers see what their customers want and like. Since no one can change the color, texture, or whatever in real life on the products that is being bought, there is not way to tell how much the product is being enjoyed. Let's face it. If we do not see what we really want, then we have to buy the next best thing.
Also with "Viral marketing," information can get out to consumers with less money and effort. For example, the job fair I went to on SecondLife was a lot cheaper then it would be in real life. In fact, it is all possible to have a job fair 24/7. All the information that is needed for the job seekers are what jobs are you seeking and do you offer the job I am searching for. Most corporation's websites have the abilities to send one's resume out. When I ask one of the recruiters there if I can give my resume to him, he told me to email it to him. Nothing was exchanged.
Each booth has something to click to get more information about their business and what they are looking for as new employees. There was really no real need to chat with a life recruiter. To me that shows how important "Viral marketing" has become, and how easily it for both the marketers and the consumer. In the job search areas, one does not need to schedule part of the whole of the day to prepare for a job fair. With Virtual reality, like SecondLife, one can be completely naked in real life and have his/her avatar in SL dress up to represent him/her in the job that is being searched for.
In all that I have learned in my training in computers, I could be disappointed in all of this fast changing of how thing are with the Internet. Instead, I am very excited to first learn from the SecondLife Job Fair what is popular in today's technology, and i am excited to be a part of it. I truly cannot wait to see what happens next online.

Making Real Money in SecondLife
The Internet in the 21st Century and Beyond.
That is right folks. You can make real money in SecondLife. What is SecondLife? It is a 3-D Virtual reality. In all aspects as far as the real world is to us, it is not real. Funny to think that one can make real money while in a non-existing world, but it is true. Once you cross real life to a virtual one, one has to ask what is real?
That answer can be in many shapes and forms. The simplest of answer to the question, “What is real” is this: It is what you make of it. The first personal computer was sold in 1981 by IBM. One could hardly do anything on these first PCs. Now we can do things on computers today that would takes us months if not years to do otherwise, if it possible to do them at all. Now we can chat with a person or person(s) on the other side of the globe in real time as we would if all that are talking was in the same room. Though simple instant messaging software, we can do just that. These instant messaging software are far from being simple. We can exchange files of all sorts within these instant messaging softwares.
Now in a new and very fast growing aspect online, SecondLife, we are able to expand from Instant Messaging, blogging, chatrooms, bulletin boards, and all the other forms of communications we have used in the past with computers. That expansion is changing very rapidly as days goes by. Within SecondLife, we are able to interact in a real time and even in a real existence. By the use of 3-D technology, we are able to create replicas of oneself if not create something totally different then what we may look like in real life. We can create what is called an avatar to anything we want. We can be either male, female, animal (called furries), a robot, Darth Vadar, a Storm Trooper, the Koolaid man, etc. We can represent ourselves from within our own soul better then we ever could in what we call real life.
When it comes down to it, we have not really left real life, but enhanced it. So again what is real? We can do things that we may not ever could do in our own average little world that we call “real life.” If the meaning of “real life” is what you make of it, then how can SecondLife be less real? SecondLife is more real then we may think. If we can make buildings and allow them to float in the air without polls or anything else holding them up, then we do have something very unique. We have a universe that has not limitations other then the creator.
If you do not believe that what I am saying it for real, then check out these links that I have provided. Time will tell how things will progress in SecondLife and in our own real life world. As always it is up to us as individuals and as a group or a team to make things either progress or digress.
